John Boofer

John Boofer of Parker will celebrate his 85th birthday with an open house at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fairview Township Municipal Building.

Boofer born April 21, 1927, in Fairview. He married the late Mary Claypoole on March 6, 1948, and the late Cathy McClain on July 23, 1988.

He has six children, John “J.D.” Boofer of Parker, Mary Jane Ealy of Bruin, Margaret “Peg” Martin of Valencia, Myrtle “Pickel” McClure of Bruin, Mamie Utterback of Karns City and Elizabeth Boofer of Butler. Two other children, Bobbie Blystone and Jake Boofer, are deceased.

He also has 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Boofer is retired from Central Chemical where he was a truck driver.
