2:30 p.m. Wednesday — A 30-year-old Mars woman reported that her purse was stolen from her car parked in the 200 block of North Bluff Street about 5 p.m. Tuesday. The purse had a wallet, credit cards, bank card, a small amount of change and a digital camera.Soon after the woman reported the theft, a Butler man showed up at the station with her purse. He told police he found the purse in his garbage can Wednesday morning. The only item missing from the purse was the camera.

Wednesday — Police charged Michael V. Adams, 32, of McGrann, Armstrong County, with misdemeanor drug possession stemming from an 11:04 a.m. April 5 traffic stop for speeding on Route 422. Officers found Adams with suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe in his vehicle.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and speeding.

1:02 a.m. Wednesday — Cody Lee Wise, 28, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on North Broad Street.Tuesday — Vehicles driven by a 17-year-old, who police did not identify, and Matthew Winder, 24, of Mercer collided at Stewart and College avenues. The youth was cited for failing to yield for a stop sign.

Tuesday — Police ruled that an April 7 fire that damaged a double-wide mobile home in Summit Township was an accident.The owners were not home and no one was injured in the fire that broke out in the basement of the home in the 2100 block of Highland Drive.Lick Hill volunteer firefighters were called and contained the fire to the basement.The state police fire marshal's office investigated and determined the cause to be “accidental due to careless disposal of smoking materials,” according to a news release.10:35 p.m. April 1 — Alysia Slatko, 40, of Foxburg, Armstrong County, was hurt when the sport utility vehicle she was driving crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its side on Route 58 in Allegheny Township.Slatko, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Seneca in Venango County, with moderate injuries. Police said they cited her for a lane violation.

12:24 a.m. Friday — Lori A. Shreckengost, 20, of Butler was seriously injured when she lost control of her car and struck a tree after hitting a guardrail and ditch on Route 66 in Redbank Township. The car ignited in fire as Shreckengost got out of it.Shreckengost, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with “major” injuries.The New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department put out the fire that engulfed the car.Shreckengost faces a ticket for careless driving.
