CONNOQUENESSING TWP — Honda North, a member of the Palmiero Automotive Group, has been named a recipient of the Honda President’s Award for 2011.

This award is Honda’s highest dealership honor, and 2011 marks the fifth time Honda North has earned this award in the past six years.

It is one of only five dealerships in Pennsylvania to get this award in 2011, and is one of only two dealerships in the state to have won the award three years in a row.

The award is based on prior year achievement of excellence in all areas of operation, customer service and satisfaction, sales, training and facility.

Kenny Ross aids athletic associationZelienople — Kenny Ross Chevrolet-Buick North is supporting the Cranberry Township Athletic Association through the Chevy Youth Baseball Program.This sponsorship includes monetary and equipment donations for this spring’s baseball season.Donated items could include equipment bags, baseballs, softballs, catcher’s gear, batting helmets, ball buckets, umpire’s equipment, coach’s kits, break away bases, bat racks and first aid kits.In addition, each sponsored league will take part in the Chevy Youth Baseball Double Play Giveaway, a fundraiser that can earn each league $10,000. It also features a grand prize of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, along with other prizes.

Engineering firm expands quicklyCranberry Twp — Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, an engineering firm, announced it has completed an office expansion, adding 1,500 square feet to its office at 200 W. Kensinger Drive.The expansion is the result of adding 20 new employees in the past year, including project managers, environmental scientists, survey crew members and administrative staff.

Butler man gets DEP business grantHARRISBURG — The state Department of Environmental Protection has awarded a Butler businessman a Small Business Advantage Grant.David Ruffner has received a $4,300 grant for an auxiliary power unit, or APU, that will cut down on truck idling while a tractor-trailer is loaded or unloaded.Ruffner is an independent trucking owner-operator.
