10:30 a.m. Wednesday — Ashley E. Morabito, 22, no known address, was arrested following a call for a disturbance at a Maharg Street home. Morabito, who had been staying there, reportedly got into an altercation with 27-year-old Ashley Kudamik, who lives at the home.When police tried to arrest Morabito, she shoved an officer's arm away and ran, according to a police report. She was quickly chased down and caught but continued to struggle with the officer while being placed in his cruiser.Police said they later found that Morabito tried to steal Kudamik's DVD player. A search of her purse also turned up three suspected crack pipes, the police report said.Morabito is charged with resisting arrest, theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
Wednesday — Police charged a Butler couple with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a Feb. 4 drug raid at their apartment on South Main Street.Andrew Kovalcik, 27, and Karissa Kreidler, 24, were the tenants at the home where two Pittsburgh men were arrested for selling crack cocaine there.Officers linked empty stamp bags of heroin, two spoons with heroin residue, and marijuana pipes to Kovalcik and Kreidler, following a warrant search of the apartment, according to court documents.
Wednesday — Police said Drew R. Ries, 24, of Grove City was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia following an unspecified incident Dec. 8 in the 400 block of McConnell Street.Wednesday — Steven F. Lynn, 30, of Grove City was cited for failing to keep his dog under reasonable control. stemming from an incident Feb. 24 when Lynn's dog left his property in the 800 block of Superior Street and “bit a neighbor's clothing which she was wearing,” a police report said. Damage was estimated at $60.Police said they also cited Lynn for not having the required license on his dog.
10:03 p.m. Tuesday — Brian T. Shaeffer, 35, of Worthington was badly hurt when the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a concrete barrier on Route 422 in West Franklin Township. Police said Shaeffer lost control of the truck when he reached down to pick up his cell phone he dropped.Shaeffer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to nearby ACMH Hospital with serious injuries. Police said he was cited for careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.Monday — Several tools and antiques were stolen in a break-in at a Worthington man's log camp on Nicola Road in West Franklin Township. The stolen property is estimated at $1,700. The burglary happened between 5 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Monday.
3:20 a.m. Sunday — Stephen A. Custer, 30, of Slippery Rock swerved his car to avoid a deer and struck a large rock at Wagner and Allen roads in Wilmington Township. Police said Custer was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
