Tuesday — Police filed drunken driving and other charges against James Ray Johnston, 56, of Butler stemming from a 10:29 p.m. March 6 traffic stop on Litman Road at the Greater Butler Mart.In addition to driving under the influence, Johnston is charged with careless driving and an open container violation.10:56 p.m. Saturday — Two Butler men face criminal charges for fighting on Meridian Road near Meridian Station. William Konar Jr., 43, and Daniel Cunningham, 26, are both charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and harassment.

Thursday — Police accused Ryan Murphy, 30, of Evans City with harassing a co-worker outside the other employee's home on Crowe Avenue. about 9:50 p.m. Feb. 15. Murphy is charged with loitering and prowling at nighttime, possession of marijuana and harassment.Zelienople PoliceFriday — Police charged Laura L. Grosse, 28, of Ellwood City with driving under the influence stemming from a 3:21 a.m. March 3 traffic stop at East Beaver and Division streets.In addition to DUI, Grosse is charged with driving with a suspended license and careless driving.

4:42 p.m. Sunday — An Ohio teenager escaped serious injury when the car he was driving crashed into a creek along Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Joshua A. Vardakas' car started to sink in Wolf Creek but the 18-year-old got out of the vehicle with only minor injuries.Police said Vardakas of Parma, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was taken to the Grove City Medical Center for treatment of hypothermia, according to a police report.Vardakas, who fell asleep behind the wheel, faces a ticket for careless driving.
