Gerner 90th birthday
Fred Gerner of Concordia Haven I will celebrate his 90th birthday with a family gathering and dinner at the J-Barn Restaurant.
Gerner was born March 8, 1922. He married the former Agnes Walters on Oct. 28, 1942, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Saxonburg.
He has two children, William Gerner of Etters and Judy Moser of Cabot.
He also has five grandchildren, one stepgrandchild, seven great grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
Gerner is a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as the owner of Fred Gerner Trucking, Gerner Trucking and Roy A. Gerner and Sons Trucking companies.
He is a life member of the Freeport Masonic Lodge, Syria Shrine and Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company.
Gerner is a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Saxonburg where he formerly served on church council.
