4:28 p.m. Tuesday — Rachel E. Rhinebolt, 52, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Liberty Street. Police said Rhinebolt's blood-alcohol level was 0.198 percent, nearly 2½ times the 0.08 percent level considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, police cited her for driving on the wrong side of the road and driving a vehicle with suspended registration.
7:46 p.m. Monday — Two people were hurt when Shannon Tincha, 16, of Butler lost control of her car and struck a guide wire for a utility pole along Mercer Road near Aubrey Drive. Tincha and a passenger, who police did not identify, suffered minor injuries. Police cited Tincha for driving at an unsafe speed.
Monday — A vandal wielding a blunt object caused about $1,000 in damage to an electric box used for lighted billboards at Lawson's Landscape Supply on Route 68 in Forward Township.2:18 a.m. Feb. 11 — One person was hurt in a suspected drunken driving crash at Route 8 and Centertown Road in Mercer Township.The suspect, Samantha M. Lamagna, 19, of Patton, Cambria County, was arrested for driving under the influence after her car struck an embankment. Lamagna's passenger, Dean Coleman, 19, of Lawrence, N.J., was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
2 a.m. Monday — An unknown arsonist set fire to a Slippery Rock man’s minivan parked on North Liberty in Liberty Township.Police believe the suspect broke a sliding door window on the van and then threw a Molotov cocktail into the vehicle. The owner heard the breaking glass and saw the fire, and put out the blaze.
