SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University pole vaulters Julia Cain and Cameron Daugherty have been accepted into the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, slated for March 11-12 at Minnesota State-Mankato University.

Daugherty placed fourth at nationals last year and qualified with a vault of 5.05 meters, seventh best in the nation. He finished second at last week's PSAC Championships.

Cain has vaulted 3.80 meters this season, sixth best among women nationally. She placed third in last week's PSAC meet.

GREENSBURG — Butler graduate Cody Herald, a freshman infielder on the Seton Hill University baseball team, had four hits and a home run in a recent 17-16 victory over fifth-ranked LeMoyne recently.Herald is hitting .357 in the early going for the unbeaten Griffins (6-0), who are ranked fifth nationally by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. This is the highest ranking of any Seton Hill team since the school's athletic program bumped up from NAIA to Division II a few years ago.
