State Police, ButlerMonday — A diamond engagement ring worth $3,200 was reported stolen from a home on Sullivan Road in Summit Township. The theft happened between Friday and Monday.

State Police, New CastleFeb. 13 — A teenager held at the New Castle Youth Development Center in Shenango Township has been charged as an adult with robbing and attacking a staffer who was transporting the boy in his car last month.According to a police report, Erick Robert Lee, 17, on Jan. 19 reached from the back seat and told the staffer, “Don’t take this personal. It’s business,” before he began choking the 58-year-old man.Police said Lee demanded the car keys and punched the staffer before driving off in the parking lot of the juvenile detention center.Police say the boy lost control of the car and crashed into a tree, totaling the van.Lee was arraigned on charges of robbery of a vehicle, robbery by taking property by force, robbery by threatening injury, aggravated assault and theft, all felonies. He also is charged with criminal mischief.The boy is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on $50,000 bail.
