10:24 a.m. Wednesday —Tyler J. Karch, 23, of Butler was arrested after allegedly shoplifting BB ammo and a bottle of deer urine before running out the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Police ran him down on Fourth Avenue and took him to the station.Karch was placed in a holding cell, where he allegedly defecated and smeared feces on the cell door, spat on the security camera and threw toilet water on the floor, walls and door. He also damaged a mattress and blanket.Due to prior convictions, Karch is charged with a felony count of retail theft, as well as criminal mischief. He is in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.

A 40-year-old man is suspected of stealing $20,000 from a 61-year-old Rimersburg area woman.The alleged victim gave the money to the suspect, who police did not identify, to repair a gas well on her property on Kissinger Mills Road in Madison Township.But after receiving the money in 2010, the suspect never made any repairs, and failed to return any of the money.Police said their investigation continues.

7:50 a.m. Wednesday —Two people were hurt when a car driven by Kaylan A. Arbogast, 18, of Clarks Mills and a minivan driven by James J. Hagen, 47, of Volant collided at George Junior Road just south of Hawthorne Lane in Grove City. Both drivers, who were wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries.

6:34 a.m. Tuesday — A minivan driven by Judith A. Barger, 66, of Bessemer and a pickup truck driven by Joseph G. Brewer, 29, of Chicora collided at Trotter and Columbiana roads in North Beaver Township. Police said Barger was cited for a stop sign violation.
