8:59 a.m. Thursday — Jamie M. Bray, 37, of Karns City was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $495 in merchandise from the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Bray is charged with retail theft.
Wednesday — Tyler Evans, 26, of Butler was arrested after allegedly stealing DVDs worth more than $250 from the Target store in Butler Commons. Evans ran out of the store but was nabbed behind the Big Lots store in the Alameda Plaza. He is charged with retail theft.11:49 a.m. Tuesday — Kara Ciccone, 19, of Mars lost control of her sport utility vehicle and crashed into a stone wall on Morton Avenue at the entrance to Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.11:36 p.m. Sunday — Robert Hancheck Jr., 46, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Litman Road. In addition to DUI, Hancheck is charged with two lane violations, having an obstructed window and an open container violation.Feb. 3 — A 16-year-old boy grabbed another boy by the neck and threw him off a bench he was seated on in the boys locker room at the Intermediate High School. The suspect, who police did not identify, was charged in juvenile court with harassment.
Sunday — Two people were arrested for driving under the influence during roving DUI patrols in the county. In all, 36 vehicles were stopped.Officers made one drug arrest and served two bench warrants. Additionally, they issued 13 traffic tickets and 19 warnings, and made 21 identification checks.
Thursday — An unknown burglar broke into United Methodist Church in Slippery Rock and tried to force open the doors to two offices. A police news release did not say if anything was taken in the burglary between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Thursday — An unknown brazen burglar broke into a Mercer Township house and stole a television set from the bedroom where a 26-year-old man and one of his children were sleeping.Police said nothing else was taken in the break-in between 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and 1:50 a.m. Thursday.4:30 p.m. Wednesday — Zachery T. Morrow, 21, of East Butler was seriously injured when he lost control of his car and collided with a pickup truck on Linwood Drive in East Butler. Morrow, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered head injuries.He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Joseph A. Dunkerley, 49, of Grove City was driving the pickup.4:20 p.m. Wednesday — A Mack truck driven by Richard G. Williams, 29, of New Castle and a pickup truck driven by Eric D. Spiker, 30, of Edinburg, Lawrence County, collided on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township.9:15 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Shelby L. Stetzer, 17, of Butler and a car driven by Belinda D. King, 55, of Slippery Rock collided at Routes 8 and 308 in Center Township.
