9:54 p.m. Tuesday — Joei R. Campbell, 20, faces drug-related charges after police found suspected marijuana and contraband at an apartment in the 100 block of West Brady Street.A reported disturbance sent officers to the home. Inside, they noticed in open view a large smoking pipe containing suspicious residue.Campbell allowed officers to search the apartment, where they turned up, in all, 10 glass pipes with residue, two grinders, two scales and two containers with suspected marijuana.Campbell is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — A Hewlett-Packard laptop computer was reported stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Gilmore Avenue sometime during the first week of January. The computer is valued at $580.10 p.m. Monday — Dean Register Jr., 40, of Butler was caught allegedly stealing scrap metal in the area of the former L.M. Stevenson Co. in the 100 block of Monroe Street. Police charged Register with theft, loitering and prowling at night, defiant trespass, driving with a suspended license and driving an unregistered vehicle.Friday — Police charged Tracy L. Wegrzynek, 38, of Mercer with lying to authorities when she claimed Dec. 5 that she had received sexually explicit harassing text messages from an Internet texting website.A police investigation determined that Wegrzynek sent the messages to herself.On Dec. 6, she allegedly lied to police when she claimed she had been sexually assaulted. According to a police report, investigators determined Wegrzynek had concocted “an intricate plot to fabricate her story.”She is charged with two counts of making false reports to police.

4:03 p.m. Wednesday — Keith Williams Jr., 42, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at East Jefferson and First streets.Wednesday — Police filed 15 citations against Prestige 1 Auto in Donegal Township in connection with 13 vehicle transactions last month. The dealer failed to pay $3,812 in state taxes collected for fees and taxes on the vehicle sales.Monday — A 15-inch Dell Inspiron laptop computer was stolen from a home at the Pine Glen Apartments in Slippery Rock Township. The theft happened between 10 p.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday.6 p.m. Saturday — Stephen P. Szuch, 62, of Pittsburgh was hurt when the car he was driving struck an embankment and rolled over, landing on its roof, on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Szuch, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with moderate injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Sunday — Someone broke into two mobile homes and several sheds on Hide Lane in East Brady. Police did not immediately say if any property was taken in the break-ins between Dec. 20 and Sunday.

4:53 p.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Mary Preisel, 27, of Charlotte, N.C., and Jeanne H. Hindman, 80, of Emlenton collided at Route 322 in Cranberry Township, Venango County. Preisel, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.<B></B>
