2:35 a.m. today — A West Sunbury man faces drug charges after police were called for a reported fight on American Avenue. Timothy Magnotti, 29, was a passenger in a car that police stopped leaving the area.While speaking to Magnotti, an officer noticed a baggie of suspected marijuana sticking out of his coat pocket. A search of the other pocket turned up a digital scale with residue on it.Police said Magnotti is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.3:21 p.m. Tuesday — A couple landed in county jail on different charges after a domestic dispute at their Fourth Avenue apartment.Charlie J. Denstitt, 21, of Butler was first to be picked up after he turned himself in to police on a warrant. He then told police that less than an hour earlier, 41-year-old Rosselyn M. Brace had assaulted him at their home.A police report noted that officers saw teeth marks on Denstitt's left shoulder where he claimed Brace had bitten him.Police arrested Brace at her home. She was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail. Denstitt was jailed on the warrant.
Monday — A viola and bow along with Yamaha recorders, valued at a combined $14,700, were stolen between Jan. 11 and Tuesday from the Pew Fine Arts Building on the Grove City College campus.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
12:40 a.m. Tuesday — Zane Perry, no age given, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on South Washington Street in Butler.Tuesday — Police filed theft and other charges against William G. Spencer, 46, of Butler in connection with the sale of a vehicle on Dec. 14 at Campbell's Notary Service on North Main Street in Center Township.Police said Campbell sold an 18-year-old Butler woman a 1995 Jeep Cherokee with a 1993 Jeep Cherokee title.He is charged with theft by deception and making false application for certificate of title or registration, both misdemeanors, and several summary title violations.1:07 p.m. Sunday — Pickup trucks driven by Shon E. Wright, 36, of Ellwood City and Joseph A. Williams, 48, of Butler collided on Route 19 just south of Merriman Drive in Muddy Creek Township.Sunday — Police charged 19-year-old Stephanie M. Evans with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy at a Mercer Township trailer court where she lives.Evans allegedly admitted to molesting the boy about 8 p.m. Saturday at the Crystal Springs Trailer Park.She also acknowledged that she knew the boy's age, according court documents.Evans is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, a felony, and indecent assault, a misdemeanor.
