8:37 p.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Bradley Zurzolo, 20, of Butler and Robert L. Brown, 67, of Rimersburg, Clarion County, collided at South McKean and East Birch streets. Zurzolo was cited for an unspecified traffic violation.
11:44 p.m. Wednesday — Hunter Lumley, 20, of Butler was hurt when he lost control of his car and struck a tree in the 100 block of Evans Road. Lumley suffered injuries to his left wrist and head but refused hospital treatment. Police said he was cited for driving too fast for conditions and not wearing a seat belt.2:04 p.m. Wednesday — A 911 hang-up call from a Bessemer Avenue home in Lyndora ended with two suspected drug dealers jailed.Police went to the home and found 38-year-old Brandon L. Smith and 42-year-old Jamie Howell, both of Butler, at the house. Inside, police said, officers also spotted evidence of suspected drugs.Officers obtained a search warrant for the home. The search, according to court documents, turned up suspected marijuana and 60 stamp bags of heroin.Smith and Howell are charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance conspiracy, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Both defendants were arraigned on charges and placed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail each.
Sunday — An Apple iPod, money, and prescription medication were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of Stewart Avenue. The theft happened between 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
2:45 p.m. Sunday — Christopher S. Evans, 35, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 28 about one-half mile north of exit 18 in North Buffalo Township.Sunday — An unknown would-be burglar over the weekend tried to break into a storage room at the Bradys Bend Boat and Car Wash in East Brady.Police noted that the room contains vending machines.1:05 p.m. Jan. 9 — Shaun Sheakley, 33, of Karns City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 28 at exit 18 in North Buffalo Township.
