Wednesday — A constable arrested Amy M. Slater, 25, of Butler on a warrant. Later, police said, a search of Slater's purse turned up two unopened and numerous empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, three used syringes and a metal spoon with suspected heroin residue.Police said they charged Slater with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.6:53 a.m. Friday — A suspected robber snatched the wallet from a shopper's hand at the Cigarette Shoppe on West Jefferson Street. The victim, a 50-year-old woman, had her wallet out to make a purchase.The robber is described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet, 10 inches and 170 pounds.The man fled the store northbound. Police checked the area but did not find him.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-287-7743.
2:32 p.m. Tuesday — Joseph A. Ciz, 22, of Valencia was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his 21-year-old girlfriend and broke her cell phone during a domestic dispute at her home on Cliffside Drive in Adams Ridge.The woman, who lives with her parents, suffered minor injuries, police said.Ciz drove away before officers got to the home; however, police nabbed him a short time later following a traffic stop on Route 228.He was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail.Butler County Drug Task ForceWednesday — Danielle C. Frazier, 30, no known address, was arrested on a felony warrant stemming from a suspected drug deal last summer in Butler.According to the arrest warrant, Frazier on Aug. 2 sold 0.26 grams of crack cocaine to a police informant for $50 in the area of Wagner Avenue and West Birch Street.Task force officers arrested Frazier at a home in the 500 block of West Cunningham Street. He is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.He was arraigned on the charges and placed in the Butler Country Prison on $50,000 bail.Wednesday — Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Brent M. Spahn, 24, of Center Township, who on Aug. 16 allegedly sold crack cocaine to a police informant for $50 in the 100 block of West Brady Street.He is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
5:50 p.m. Tuesday — A 14-year-old Westmoreland County boy allegedly attacked a nurse, 56-year-old Richard Serafine of Butler, in the emergency room at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township. The boy, who police did not identify, was at the hospital for a mental health evaluation when he assaulted Serafine, who suffered undisclosed injuries.Police said the youth is charged in Armstrong County juvenile court with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment.6:10 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Michael Archer, 38, of Cabot rear-ended another car on Route 28 just south of exit 6 in O'Hara Township, Allegheny County. Police said Archer faces a ticket for following too closely to another vehicle. Dana Greeting, 30, of Cheswick, Allegheny County, was the other driver.
