Saturday — An unknown thief stole $900 worth of stereo equipment from a car in a garage at a home in the 200 block of East Brady Street. The suspect got into the car between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. after smashing a rear window. Stolen was an Alpine 12-inch subwoofer and a Kenwood amplifier.4:28 p.m. Friday — Kenneth Orloski Jr., 40, was arrested after allegedly cutting his 40-year-old girlfriend with a knife during a domestic dispute at his home in the 700 block of West Penn Street. A police news release did not identify the woman. The extent of her injuries were not known.Orloski was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.
1:39 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Daniel Shuler, 22, of North Dakota and a pickup truck driven by Ray Knauf Jr., 31, of Evans City collided on McCalmont Road.12:40 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Andrew Sykes, 20, of Butler and a sport utility vehicle driven by Brandy Double, 37, of Lyndora collided at Routes 68 and 356. Police said Sykes was cited for making an improper left turn.2:30 a.m. Saturday — Andrew Hill, 25, of Lyndora was cited twice after the vehicle he was driving struck a curb and utility pole along Route 8. The vehicle was damaged but Hill was able to drive home. He did not call police.Later, police tracked down Hill, who faces charges of careless driving and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.11 a.m. Friday — Jacqueline Young, 55, of Butler lost control of her car on Route 422, spun around in the snow and hit another vehicle driven by Andrew Fejko, 55, of Renfrew. Police said Young was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
2:08 p.m. Friday — Mariah Wilson, 18, of Mercer lost control of her car on the snow and slid into a tree along George Junior Road. Police said Wilson was cited for driving too fast for conditions.3:16 p.m. Dec. 30 — A vehicle driven by Tyler Fleeger, 18, of Slippery Rock rear-ended another vehicle at West Main and Ivan Drive.
1:44 a.m. today — A sport utility vehicle driven by John D. Clark III, 44, of Butler struck the back of a tractor-trailer and utility pole near the entrance to the Clearview Mall on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said they cited Clark for unspecified traffic violations.10:44 a.m. Friday — A Freightliner van driven by Von G. Guyton, 36, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, and a dump truck driven by Charles C. Kelley, 63, of Saxonburg collided on snow-covered Route 356 in Jefferson Township. Police said Guyton was cited for driving too fast for conditions.9:49 a.m. Friday — A Westmoreland County man was hurt when the car he was driving struck a brick wall along snow-covered Bonniebrook Road in Jefferson Township. Michael J. Lakin, 24, of Lower Burrell, the driver, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police said Guyton was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Thursday — A would-be thief tried to steal several vehicles at the Quality Car Sales lot on North Main Street in Center Township. The suspect, described only as a white man, attempted to take the vehicles between 1 and 1:45 a.m.Jan. 8 — Someone broke into a Clinton Township home through a bedroom window and made off with several unspecified items. The burglary at the home on Christy Road happened between 7 p.m. Jan. 7 and 1:30 a.m. Jan. 8.Dec. 23 — An unknown thief used a Renfrew woman's bank debit card information to buy tickets to Disneyland in California. The theft amounted to $525.Dec. 28 — A .38-caliber Colt revolver valued at $250 and assorted state commemorative quarters valued at $2,500 were stolen in a burglary at a Red Dog Road home in Center Township. The break-in happened between May 8 and Dec. 28.
