Irene Godfrey

Irene Godfrey of Slippery Rock celebrated her 90th birthday with more than 50 friends and relatives during an open house Dec. 31 at Graystone Manor in Slippery Rock.

The former Irene Reedy was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Emlenton. She married the late Robert Godfrey on Sept. 21, 1949.

She has two children, Robert Godfrey Jr. of Hermitage and Nancy “Sis” Warcup of Slippery Rock. She also has two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Godfrey is retired from Slippery Rock University.
