Butler Police4:52 p.m. Sunday — Matthew P. Dec, 42, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his 12-year-old stepson during a domestic dispute at their Liberty Street home.Police said Dec put the boy in a choke hold and slammed his head to the ground. The child suffered bruising under his left eye, court documents said.Officers arrested Dec, who was “visibly intoxicated,” in front of the apartment building. He was arraigned on charges of child endangerment, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.

Butler Twp. Police4:02 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Tammy Edwards, 41, of Slippery Rock crashed into a utility pole on Mercer Road. Edwards was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

State Police, Clarion2 a.m. Saturday — A man and woman from Clarion County are accused of starting a fight at Savelli’s Bar in Toby Township. The suspects, Larry J. Lewis Jr., 38, and Breah A. Ditto, 25, both of Sligo, allegedly provoked the scrap with two Rimersburg women.Lewis and Ditto both face charges of disorderly conduct.
