1:43 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Brenda Heilman, 43, of Kittanning struck the back of a sport utility vehicle on East Jefferson Street near Whitehill Street. John Spatafore, 63, of Wexford was driving the SUV.

Tuesday — Police filed drugged driving charges against Michael D. McCarl, 18, of Butler stemming from a Dec. 1 three-vehicle crash on Route 68 near Campus Lane.McCarl is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving and driving with an obstructed window.8:45 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at Evans City and North Eberhart roads.The crash happened when a vehicle driven by Laura McKenna, no age given, of Butler slid on the snow-covered road and struck a vehicle that Lester Large, no age given, of Butler was driving.A passenger in Large's vehicle, who police did not identify, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with an undisclosed injury.2:45 a.m. Monday — Michael Graham, 24, of Butler lost control of his pickup truck on ice-and snow-covered Route 422 near the Route 8 exit and crashed over the guardrail and embankment. The crash closed both westbound lanes for about 20 minutes.1:55 a.m. Sunday — Keith A. Dick, 36, of Freeport was arrested for driving under the influence after his minivan struck a fire hydrant along Morton Avenue. Police said Dick fled the crash. A short time later, several neighbors called 911 to report a shirtless man wandering around not far from the wreck.Officers found Dick, who appeared to be intoxicated. In addition to DUI, he is charged with hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed and driving without insurance.

Tuesday — An unidentified vehicle struck a metal electrical box on Carrie Way, and did not stop after the crash. The wreck damaged the box, leaving electrical wires exposed. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Tuesday — The owner of the Broad Street Market on North Broad Street, Grove City, was cited for an unlawful alarm activation. The citation was issued after the market's fourth false alarm in a 12-month period happened at 3:13 a.m. Dec. 23.

8:12 p.m. Monday — Lynette A. Vargo, 52, of Renfrew was hurt when the car she was driving struck a tree along snow-covered Browns Mill Road just south of Brownsdale Road in Forward Township. Vargo, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with unknown injuries.6:30 p.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Ethan J. Rodgers, 19, of Butler slid into a business sign along snow-covered Mercer Road. Police said Rodgers was cited for driving too fast for conditions.6:15 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Trevor A. Hays, 19, and a car driven by Bret T. Vulakovich, 19, both of Chicora collided on snow-covered Center Drive, just north of Love Road in Oakland Township.1:40 a.m. Saturday — A pickup driven by Lonnie J. Wheeler, 44, of Karns City struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Hooker Road in Concord Township. Police said Wheeler was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
