8:53 p.m. Nov. 15 — One person was hurt when a pickup truck driven by Christopher Hornsby, 24, of Guyton, Ga., and a car driven by Shayna Whitehead, 18, of Summit Township collided at West Jefferson and South Chestnut streets. Timothy Linhart, 20, of Butler, a passenger in the car who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.Police said Hornsby was cited for running a red light. Whitehead was cited for driving without insurance.
Tuesday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Jennifer R. Blystone, 27, of Butler, who is accused of shoplifting Nov. 17 at the Kohl's store in the Butler Crossing shopping plaza.Police said Blystone ran out of the store and drove away after allegedly stealing $358 worth of merchandise. She is charged with retail theft and driving with a suspended license.Tuesday — Police filed drug-related charges against Cassandra Hiles, 18, of Chicora in connection with an Oct. 30 traffic stop on North Main Street. Hiles, who was a passenger in the car, was found with a prescription bottle containing marijuana, according to a police report. She also allegedly had a marijuana pipe.She is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.8:49 p.m. Saturday — Cyril Leech, 52, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence in the township's Highfield section. In addition to DUI, he is charged with reckless driving and not using his vehicle's low beams.
5:45 p.m. Nov. 18 — Robert P. Crawford III, 26, of Forestville was arrested after allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend during a domestic dispute on South Main Street.Police said Crawford, who is barred by court order from contacting the woman, also took the keys from her vehicle, leaving the vehicle abandoned in the middle of the road.Crawford is charged with violating a protection from abuse order, simple assault, terroristic threats and driving without a license. He was placed in the Butler County Prison for the PFA violation.
3:03 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Christian T. Gibson, 18, of Boyers and a car driven by Richard S. Best, 21, of West Sunbury collided at Route 308 and Kiester Road in Cherry Township. Police said Gibson was cited for a stop sign violation.12:03 p.m. Monday — Two people were injured in a rear-end collision in Muddy Creek Township.The crash happened at Route 8 and Muddy Creek Drive when a car driven by Ronald C. Selfridge, 37, of West Sunbury struck the back of a car driven by Kristy D. Hovis, 21, of Butler.Hovis was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Selfridge suffered minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Police said Selfridge was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.3:15 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Zachary A. Bauknight, 21, of Landisville, Lancaster County, rear-ended another car at Harmony and Kiester roads in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Bauknight was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Chelsea A. Siddons, 19, of Lewistown, Mifflin County, was the other driver.
8:50 p.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Vicky L. Leonberg, 54, of Mars struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Deer Creek Township.7:55 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Donald R. Leonard, 63, of Greenville crashed into a guardrail at Irishtown and Cranberry roads in Pine Township.
