Butler Police4:38 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Alice M. Snow, 74, of Butler struck pedestrian Otto Heitzer, 31, of Butler on East Jefferson Street. Heitzer suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. Witnesses stated Heitzer stepped out into traffic suddenly from between stopped cars and Snow could not have stopped.

Butler Twp. PoliceThursday — Someone slashed the tire of a white Toyota SUV in the parking lot of the Belmont II. Anyone with information should call police at 724-285-9600.3:33 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Bernadine Chuba, 74, of Butler and a vehicle driven by James Stewart, 54, of Chicora collided at the intersection of Route 8 and Filbert Road. No injuries were reported.

State Police, Butler6:05 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by William C. Updergrove, 39, of Butler crashed into an embankment and a downed tree along Covert Road near Route 528 in Brady Township.1:25 a.m. Thursday — Police are searching for James J. Scheall Jr., 36, no known address, after he allegedly entered a residence along North Road in Franklin Township and made threats against a person inside before fleeing. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.1:30 p.m. Wednesday — Charles F. Sack, 77, of Slippery Rock was thrown from his motorcycle when it crashed into an embankment after he swerved trying to avoid a pair of dogs that jumped at the motorcycle on Porter Road in Marion Township. Sack, who was wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Grove City Medical Center. The dogs’ owner Ashley Surrena, 24, of Harrisville was cited for a dog law violation.

State Police, Mercer2:05 a.m. Thursday — Nicholas M. Corcoran, 28, of Fowler, Ohio, was arrested under suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop on Route 208 near Route 258 in Springfield Township.

State Police, Clarion7:53 p.m. — A car driven by Rachel A. Smith, 32, of Butler struck a deer on Interstate 80 in Beaver Township, Clarion County.
