Sunday — John Negley of Butler reported his pickup and car were damaged overnight with some type of acid-based spray, causing a total of $3,000 in damage, while they were parked at 235 1/2 Roosevelt Blvd.2:18 p.m. Saturday — In a hit-and-run accident, a white SUV struck a parked vehicle owned by Mary Hensell in the 7-Eleven store parking lot along Pillow Street. The SUV, which has a silver bottom, will have damage to its driver's side.Saturday — Cameron Aziz Newhart, 23, of Butler was charged with accessed vice fraud and theft by unlawful taking after his mother, Tracey Newhart, also of Butler reported her son having stolen her Wal-Mart money card. Police report the son made three withdrawals at two ATMs totaling more than $300. Police identified Cameron Newhart making two of the withdrawals on video surveillance at the Cigarette Shop ATM on West Jefferson Street.6:30 p.m. Friday — Jesse James Markovitz, 31, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called by Butler Ambulance, which had responded to a medical call at Markovitz's address at 247 E. Patterson St.Police report Markovitz's girlfriend showed ambulance staff a syringe and multiple bags of suspected heroin while they were treating Markovitz for a possible overdose. Police found nine stamp bags, two of which were empty, a spoon with residue and a syringe at the scene.Markovitz told police that was the only time he used heroin.11:22 a.m. Friday — In a hit-and-run accident, an older model rusted white van struck a parked vehicle owned by Robert Thomas of Butler in a doctor's office parking lot along East Jefferson Street. The van has damage to its driver's side.4:08 p.m. Oct. 18 — A rented tractor-trailer became stuck under the railroad bridge on South Monroe Street.

9:25 p.m. Sunday — Timothy Anderson, 42, of Gibsonia was charged with simple assault after allegedly striking and pushing a 47-year-old Mars woman on Irvine Street in Mars.Saturday — An unknown vehicle struck a parked car along Renick Street near East Prairie Street in Harrisville between 12:01 and 7:45 a.m. before fleeing the scene. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Saturday — Benjamin Lanich and Luke Holland, both of Slippery Rock, reported their iPods were stolen between 12:05 and 12:30 a.m. while they were hosting a party at the Heights Apartments on Cobblestone Lane in Slippery Rock Township. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.10:28 p.m. Friday — A red Jeep Wrangler was turning left from Midway Street onto Hockenberry Drive in Slippery Rock when it struck the left arm of a pedestrian, Terrece Draper, 23, of Slippery Rock, who received minor injuries. The vehicle then fled south on Elm Street. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Friday — Christopher Eden of Slippery Rock reported the left side of his car was scratched and both tires on that side were deflated while it was parked outside 115 Davcol Lane in Slippery Rock Township between 7:55 and 8:45 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Friday — Three Slippery Rock students, Michael Schwartz, Michael Schweitzer and Anthony Phillips, reported each of their vehicles had tires punctured while they were parked at the Southrock Apartments along Keister Road between 2:30 a.m. and noon. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.12:23 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jason Geibel, 23, of Fenelton sideswiped a pickup driven by Kenneth Burton, 59, of Karns City that was traveling in the opposite direction on Route 68 in Chicora. Burton received minor injuries. Geibel told police he drifted into the opposing lane while attempting to change a CD. He was cited for multiple traffic violations.1:03 p.m. Oct. 3 — A car driven by Charles H. Davies III, 20, of Prospect hit a tree along Prospect Road in Brady Township. He received minor injuries. The Unionville Volunteer Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene. Davies was cited for driving under the influence, not driving at a safe speed, not staying in the road's lane, careless driving, minor prohibited from driving with alcohol in the system, and purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of alcohol.

6:15 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Dawn Daniel, 35, of Monessen hit a utility pole and a few small trees along Route 58 in Richland Township. Daniel told police she swerved to miss two deer leading to the accident.12:55 p.m. Friday — A pickup driven by Debra Bennett, 55, of Templeton struck the rear of a pickup driven by Leann Venturini, 37, of Freeport that was slowing to turn left off Route 85 in Rayburn Township. Bennett received moderate injuries while Venturini sustained minor injuries. Bennett was cited for not driving at a safe speed.Thursday — Lisa Lamison of North Buffalo Township reported someone fraudulently used her identity to open a credit card account under her name, then spent $483 using the card. Police are investigating.
