2:47 a.m. Saturday — Ares Harlan, 24, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence in Lyndora. In addition to DUI, police charged Harlan with a stop sign violation and driving an unregistered vehicle.12:50 a.m. Saturday — Matthew Johnson, 24, of Pittsburgh was arrested after allegedly hitting another man with a beer bottle at Days Inn on Route 8 South. Police said Johnson is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.7:29 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by James Franek, 52, of Butler and a car driven by Richard Ridinger, 31, of Karns City collided on New Castle Road at Moraine Pointe Plaza. Police said Franek was cited for making an improper left turn. Both drivers were cited for an open container violation.

Saturday — Two people were arrested for driving under the influence during roving patrols in the county Friday and Saturday. In all, 23 vehicles were stopped.In addition to the drunken driving arrests, police issued six traffic tickets and cited four people for public drunkenness and six people for disorderly conduct.

6:12 a.m. Saturday — Adam R. Degroff, 31, of Grove City was hurt when a tractor-trailer struck the back of a pickup truck he was driving on Interstate 80 in Lackawannock Township. Degroff, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Sharon Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Police said Terry L. Hayes, 46, of Lakewood, Ohio, who was driving the rig, was cited for careless driving.
