Downing 60th anniversary
David and Blanche Downing of East Brady celebrated 60 years of marriage with a surprise lunch reception given by their children at the Captain Loomis Inn in Clarion.
Downing married the former Blanche Fleeger May 1, 1951, at the Methodist Church in Chicora.
They have four children, Larry Downing of Fairmont City, Sandy McLane of Pottsville, Debbie Henry of East Butler and Janet Wyman of New Bethlehem.
They have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Downing was employed at Pullman Standard until the company closed. He also operated his own sanitation business for 30 years.Mrs. Downing was as a nurse with Clarion Forest Visiting Nurse Association.Since their retirement in 1998, they have enjoyed traveling and vacationing.The Downings are members of East Brady Baptist Church.
