8:38 a.m. Friday — Someone broke a window and attempted to pry the plywood off a shed at the Father Marinaro skate park between Wednesday and Friday. Anyone with information should call police at 724-287-7743.1:59 a.m. Thursday — Steven Fusaro-Podobensky, 21, of Butler was charged with simple assault after he allegedly punched another man in the face along West Jefferson Street.11 p.m. Tuesday — Someone shot out a window at the Printing Shop, 134 E. Jefferson St., causing about $800 in damage. Anyone with information should call police at 724-287-7743.
9:42 p.m. Monday — Lorralee Opperman, 28, of Renfrew was charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled substance after she allegedly tried to steal about $85 worth of merchandise from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons.
3:51 p.m. Friday — State police evacuated all buildings at Summit Academy in Summit Township after someone called the school several times and threatened a bomb would go off inside the facility. Students and staff were allowed to return after police determined all buildings were safe. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.Aug 18 — Someone entered an unlocked storage room at Stirling's Landscaping on Mercer Road in Center Township and stole about $1,600 worth of items.12:20 p.m. Aug. 16 — A 17-year-old male student at Summit Academy in Summit Township was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly attacked a teacher.2:30 a.m. Aug. 9 — Four juveniles from East Butler and the surrounding area each were charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief after they allegedly broke into the Sherman Avenue home of Tanya J. Lewis and stole a Nintendo Wii video game system, several games and a large knife. One of the juveniles used the knife to scratch a vehicle owned by David Garis of East Butler, causing about $1,200 in damage.
6:37 p.m. Thursday — Michael Harkabusic, 27, of Freeport was arrested under suspicion of DUI after the car he was allegedly driving got stuck in a ditch along Grantz Hollow Road in Bethel Township, Armstrong County. Harkabusic abandoned his car after the crash but was arrested later.9:20 p.m. Tuesday — Layne D. Kriebel, 24, of Chicora was arrested under suspicion of DUI after he allegedly was discovered to possess five bags of heroin and paraphernalia following a traffic stop along Route 28 in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County. A passenger in the car also was allegedly discovered with two heroin stamp bags.
