Marguerite 'Jean' Thompson
Marguerite "Jean" Thompson, 79, of Grove City, formerly of New Hope, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Monday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born March 31, 1932, in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late William Henry Hochstein and the late Marguerite May Schneider Hochstein.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and attended the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grove City.
She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, canning, square dancing, researching her family genealogy, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are one daughter, Janice Carter and her husband, A. Ashby, of Belle Plaine, Minn.; one son, William P. Thompson and his wife, Mary, of Boyers; and three grandchildren, Rachael (Devin) Pearce, Eric Carter and Paul Thompson. Also surviving is one brother, William Hochstein Jr. of Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thompson, who passed away Dec. 15, 2010.
<B>THOMPSON </B>— Friends of Marguerite "Jean" Thompson, who died Monday, July 18, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. James M. Seeley, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
