Duespohl 65th anniversary
Charles and Esther Duespohl of Karns City celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Miller's Restaurant sponsored by their children.
The couple met in 1941 when he was working at her father's dairy farm. They were married at the United Methodist Church in Parker.
After his return from serving in the Pacific Theatre of World War II, Duespohl worked for 45 years for Sonneborn Witco Chemical Corporation in Petrolia until his retirement in 1987.
Mrs. Duespohl graduated from Duff's Iron City College in Pittsburgh and worked for the George Crawford Equipment Company in Pittsburgh.
They have six children, Peggy Tatsak of Butler, Charlotte Stephens of Philadelphia, Rhonda Svendsen of Falls Church, Va., Tom Duespohl of Butler, Diane Kunz of Butler and Dale Duespohl of Hurricane, W.Va.
They also have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The couple has traveled all over the United States attending the annual 1880th Engineers Corp reunions.They attend the Living Waters Community Church in Butler.
