CHICORA — The Chicora Medical Center has named Nick Anderson as the new assistant administrator.
Anderson of Green-ville, Ohio, worked at Brethrens Retirement Village, Hickory Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, Wayne Healthcare and the Greenville Water Department.
Anderson earned a bachelor's degree in health, health care administration and long-term health care administration with a gerontology and business minor from Ohio University. He lives in Butler.
Butler lawyer heads state bar sectionHARRISBURG — More than 70 lawyers in 2011-12 will head Pennsylvania Bar Association committees and sections, including Marion Laffey-Ferry of Butler.Laffey-Ferry was renamed chairwoman of the PBA Solo and Small Firm Practice Section, which works to enhance the skills of lawyers in solo and small firm practice.
Butler County deputy Darah Branchen, 23, of Adams Township recently completed the sheriffs academy at Penn State University.Sheriff Mike Slupe said Branchen, who graduated with high honors, is the first deputy in the county to complete the full 19-week course. Deputies typically have taken the standard two-week municipal police training.Branchen won the academy's Law Award for scoring the highest in vehicle code, crimes code and civil law. She also has been asked to teach defensive tactics at the academy.The state Commission on Crime and Delinquency pays for the deputy training.<B>Northwest Savings gets service award</B>WARREN, Warren County — Northwest Savings Bank received the highest ranking by J.D.
