3:33 p.m. Tuesday — Michael L. Mowder, 43, was arrested on a warrant at his home on Pollard Avenue. The constable who picked up Mowder notified police that a search turned up a baggie of suspected marijuana and two marijuana cigarettes.Mowder was placed in the Butler County Prison for the warrant. Police also charged him with possession of a small amount of marijuana.
12:39 p.m. Sunday — Tina M. Gibson, 34, of Butler is accused of shoplifting $56 in clothing items from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. She is charged with felony retail theft, police said, because this was her third arrest for shoplifting. Police also charged her with receiving stolen property and trespass.
4:11 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Mary Haug, 56, of Erie traveled down a hillside and hit a tree along Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Haug, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for minor injuries. Police said she was cited for a lane violation.12:05 p.m. Tuesday — Two 16-year-old boys escaped from the Summit Academy reform school on Herman Road in Summit Township. Authorities caught the first boy at 12:50 p.m. Troopers and school officials conducted an extensive search of the area.At 1:30 p.m., authorities nabbed the other boy. Both youths were returned to the school.1:25 a.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Houston T. Brown, 23, of Butler struck an embankment on I-79 in Worth Township. Police said Brown was cited for a lane violation.9:43 p.m. Monday — Jeffery Bon, 57, of Harrisville was hurt when a pickup truck rear-ended the motorcycle he was driving on Route 58 near East Street in Mercer Township. Bon, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries.Police said the pickup driver, Leonard J. Geibel, 51, of Butler, faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.Monday — Police charged Sheri Lynn Spencer, 34, of Cabot with driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop at 2 a.m. April 17 on Route 28 in Buffalo Township.2:55 a.m. Sunday — Elizabeth A. Schnebel, 46, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 8 near Stamm Road in Slippery Rock Township.1:12 a.m. Sunday — Robert C. Hayes Jr., 43, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Hall Road and Lilac Lane in Brady Township.
Friday — An unknown burglar made off with unspecified stolen property after breaking into a camp on Rocky Run Road in Toby Township. The burglary happened between May 28 and Friday.State Police, MercerMonday — Police charged Courtney Zuschlag, 29, of Mercer in connection with a shoplifting case May 10 at the County Market in Pine Township. Zuschlag is accused of taking numerous items from the store without paying for them. She is charged with retail theft.
