Wednesday — Police accused Vanessa Lee Eck, 30, of West Sunbury of shoplifting merchandise May 17 from the Target store in Butler Commons. Eck is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.Those charges followed Eck's arrest May 17 in a separate shoplifting arrest, according to a township police report. During the city police investigation, stolen items from Target turned up, township police said.Eck in the Butler case is charged with retail theft.

12:43 p.m. Wednesday — Joshua Gifford, 22, of Trafford, Westmoreland County, is accused of violating a protection from abuse order after he allegedly sent an e-mail to a 21-year-old woman at her home on Star Grille Road in Summit Township.Wednesday — A third row seat and spare tire belonging to a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country minivan were stolen at a home on Henricks Road in Center Township. The owner had previously taken the items, valued at $200, out of the vehicle. The theft happened between Saturday and Wednesday.8:52 p.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when a minivan driven by Adrienne T. Sauter, 44, of West Sunbury and a car driven by Steven Breitenstein, 42, of New Castle collided at Route 108 and Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township. Both drivers suffered minor injuries; both were wearing seat belts. Police said Sauter was cited for a stop sign violation.2:30 a.m. May 26 — David Stauffer, 65, of Prospect was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on New Castle Road in Franklin Township.May 10 — An Armstrong County couple allegedly stole heavy duty leaf springs and batteries from the Bruin Stone Plant in Parker Township. The suspects, Brad N. Lane, 39, and Angela Lee Lane, 41, both of Bradys Bend, later sold the items, worth $2,000, to a Clarion County scrap yard, according to a police report.Both suspects are charged with felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property and a summary charge of defiant trespass.

Wednesday — Police filed theft and fraud charges against Courtney R. Callender, 21, of Parker, accusing her of using a Rimersburg woman's credit card without permission three times in April to withdraw $404.75 from the owner's account.Callender is charged with theft and three counts of access device fraud.

6:16 a.m. Wednesday — A 63-year-old woman was hurt when the car she was driving struck a deer on Route 28 near Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township. Renee Pistole of Indiana, Pa., who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with moderate injuries.
