8:54 a.m. Saturday — David Courson, 27, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck a Jersey barrier at the Picklegate Crossing. Courson was placed in the Butler County Prison on a parole violation.11:56 p.m. Friday — Robert Albaugh, 38, of Butler was arrested for DUI on Evans City Road. Police also cited Albaugh for careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.
7:47 a.m. Monday — Charles L. Shirey, 20, of Slippery Rock is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase after his vehicle was clocked going more than double the speed limit on North Main Street.Police said Shirey's vehicle was traveling 73 mph in a 35 mph zone. He refused to stop for police, and continued speeding until he finally pulled over on Route 208 about 1.5 miles east of Route 8.Shirey is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, speeding and not wearing a seat belt.
11 a.m. Saturday — No one was hurt in a three-vehicle accident at South Broad and East Pine streets.Police said the crash happened when a pickup truck driven by Joseph Campbell, 25, of Harrisville struck the rear of a motorcycle that was stopped at a red light. The collision pushed the cycle, driven by William Garris, 63, of Clarion, into the back of a car that also was stopped at the light. Norma Kuhn, 48, of Enon Valley was driving the car.Police said Campbell told officers the brakes on his truck stopped working, which caused the accident. Police said no charges would be filed.5:48 p.m. Friday — A 16-year-old is accused of assaulting a 12-year-old sibling during a domestic dispute at a Jackson Street home. The suspect, who police did not identify, is charged in juvenile court with simple assault.Friday — Someone broke into a home in the 400 block of McConnell Street and stole 75 syringes from a bedroom. Nothing else was taken. The burglary happened between 8 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 a.m. Friday.4 p.m. Thursday — Deborah L. Bourne, 41, of Harrisville was arrested after allegedly shoplifting 29 unspecified items from Rite Aid on West Main Street. Bourne left the store but employees got her vehicle's license plate number and watched her pull into the nearby McDonald's parking lot. Officers nabbed her there. She is charged with felony retail theft.6:48 p.m. Thursday — A girl, who police did not identify, was hurt when a car accidentally hit her at Jackson and Mill streets. Police said the girl ran into the path of the car driven by John M. Frey II, 43, of Grove City. the child was taken to Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries.
4:49 p.m. Monday — Danny W. Everetts, 55, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a home's brick pillar along Marwood Road in Jefferson Township.Police said Everetts fled the scene but later was found and faces charges of drunken driving and hit-and-run.Monday — An unknown burglar broke into St. Wendelin Catholic School in Oakland Township and stole about $470. The burglary happened between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6:45 a.m. Monday.Monday — A spool of electrical copper wire was stolen between Thursday and Monday from a storage trailer at Indespec Chemical in Petrolia. Hey Electric Co. of Butler owns the wire.8:19 p.m. Saturday — Gary C. Belgi, 51, of Butler is accused of shoving a woman into a door. The alleged victim, who police did not identify, injured her head. Police said Belgi faces charges of simple assault and harassment.10:18 p.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old Harmony girl lost control of her sport utility vehicle and struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police said the girl, who they did not identify, was cited for a lane violation.
Saturday — Someone stole three pieces of jewelry from a woman's home on Route 68 in Toby Township. The theft happened between May 16 and Saturday.
1:55 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Rosemary A. Lang, 56, of Freeport and a tractor-trailer driven by Joseph J. Brosovich, 21, of Pittsburgh collided at Old Butler Pike and Route 356 in Freeport. Police said Lang was cited for a stop sign violation.
Sunday — A burglar stole a dog from a home on Walters Road in Pine Township. The dog is a white Pomeranian with three brown spots. A police report did not indicate if authorities have a suspect in the burglary that happened between 4 and 10:30 p.m.3:45 p.m. Thursday — Two people were hurt when cars driven by James L. Schell, 71, of Sandy Lake and Sharon A. Davis, 67, of Stoneboro collided on Route 62 in Sandy Lake Township.Schell and Davis suffered minor and moderate injuries, respectively. Police said Schell faces a ticket for making an improper left turn.
