11:19 a.m. May 13 — Judy Freer, owner of the Hotel Saxonburg, reported an attempted burglary at the West Main Street building. Police found a second-floor window broken, tool marks left on the window frame and blood residue near the top of the window. Nothing was reported stolen.10:10 p.m. May 6 — John Tackett, owner of Saxonburg Ceramics, reported seven windows at the North Isabella Street business were broken with rocks. Damage was estimated at $350.
6:17 p.m. Sunday — Warren J. Green, 25, of Butler was arrested after an altercation with a former girlfriend, 25-year-old Stephanie Steiger, and her current boyfriend, 21-year-old Trevor Walker, outside a home in the 400 block of West North Street.Green is accused of yelling obscenities at Steiger and Walker from outside her home. He left but later returned with a knife and allegedly tried to cut a tire on Walker's vehicle.The suspect was arraigned on charges of possessing instruments of crime, attempted criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.4:39 p.m. Saturday — Mark A. Dellen II, 21, and Melinda M. Kasarda, 20, both of Butler were caught allegedly shoplifting an FM transmitter from the electronics department at the Kmart in Pullman Square. The couple is charged with retail theft and conspiracy.2:50 p.m. May 11 — Two people were hurt when a car driven by Deborah W. Douglas, 52, of East Butler rear-ended a tractor trailer at East Jefferson and Cedar streets. Douglas and her passenger, Rebecca McKinney, 28, of Butler, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Both women were wearing seat belts. Gary Radford Jr., 38, of Wexford was driving the rig.
1:59 a.m. today — Shannon A. Bopp, 36, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 356 and Great Belt Road in Jefferson Township.1:55 a.m. Friday — Delbert R. Gable, 32, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 8 and Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township.Tuesday — Nothing of value was taken in a burglary at the Meadow Brook Apartments office building in Center Township. The break-in happened between 9 p.m. Monday and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Police said they have no suspects.
5:47 p.m. Saturday — Michael Curcio, 81, and Laurie Flatt, 49, both of Butler, were hurt when cars they were driving collided head-on on New Castle Road at Hindman Road. The drivers and two passengers in Curcio’s car were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.State Police. KittanningTuesday — An unknown vandal pushed over two tombstones at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Pleasantview Drive in Manor Township. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
