Anna Nemceff
Anna Zorka Nemceff, 93, formerly of Center Township and Lyndora, died at 3:27 a.m. Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 11, 1917, the only daughter of the late Lukas and Xenia “Jenny” Zorka.
Ann was a member of the St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Lyndora, the parish sisterhood, the ladies auxiliary of the VFW and various senior organizations. She was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora.
Ann was a homemaker and also worked in the food service industry at many locations including the old Stop & Eat drive-in restaurant and the Davy & Hilliard Drug Store food counter. She retired in 1987 from the Children's Rehabilitation Center.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Lucas and his wife, Delores, Nemceff of Yucaipa, Calif., and Frank Theodore Nemceff of Woodland Hills, Calif; three grandchildren, Lt. Col. Jack Lucas Nemceff II and his wife, Laura, of Newport News, Va., Mildred Ann and her husband, Corey Farnsworth, of San Bernardino, Calif., and Julia Lynne and her husband, Chris Cohen of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.; and seven great-grandchildren, Patrik Ilmari and Nikolas Anttoni Nemceff, Luke, Hannah Grace, Emily Ann and Samuel Arthur Farnsworth and Ava Elayne Cohen. Her brother, Jack Zorka of San Antonio, Texas; a sister-in-law, Josefa Nemceff of Gmunden, Austria; and several nephews and nieces also survive.
She was the widow of Frank Fedosia Nemceff, who she married June 11, 1938, and who died Sept. 22, 1987. Three brothers, Nicholas, Wallace and John Zorka, also preceded her in death.
Her family wishes to thank her caregivers from the Visiting Nurses and the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and special thanks to William Anderson, who died April 27, 2009, Ron Uram, and Patricia Bowser for all the extras.
<B>NEMCEFF </B>— Visitation for Anna Zorka Nemceff, who died Saturday, April 16, 2011, will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 201 Penn Ave., Lyndora, with the Very Rev. Joseph Wargo officiating. Burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
