WEST KITTANNING, Armstrong County — ACMH Hospital has been named one of the best places to work in health care by Becker's ASC Review/Becker Hospital Review.

The 2011 award recognizes 100 of the nation's best hospitals, surgery centers, physician practices and various health systems when choosing winners.

ACMH President and CEO John Lewis said there are many reasons for the award.

“Here at ACMH Hospital, we have been increasingly proactive in implementing quality improvement projects. From workplace safety training and customer satisfaction, to improved measures of infection prevention, we have been raising our standards to improve the workplace,” he said.

“In 2011, we began a hospital-wide campaign to reach out to the community like never before. This comes in the form of Quality Community Benefit Projects, developed by each department and targeting specific areas such as Orphans of the Storm and HAVIN.

“While the staff of ACMH has received the recognition from Becker's Hospital Review, the people who benefit the most are the patients who come here,” Lewis said.

PITTSBURGH — Citizens Bank has announced the retirement of Ralph Papa, chairman, as of Aug. 1.Papa will become a member of the bank’s Mid-Atlantic Advisory Board.Daniel Fitzpatrick, Citizens Bank president and CEO for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, will continue to lead the bank’s operations in Pittsburgh as he has done since 2009.The bank has branches in Butler County.Papa joined the bank in 2001 when it bought banking operations from the Mellon Financial Corp., and he worked on Citizens reputation as a bank with community roots.Before joining Citizens, Papa was president of Mellon Bank’s Western Region in Pittsburgh and chairman of Mellon Bank — Central Region in State College.Papa has worked in banking for 42 years.
