Butler Police3:40 p.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Tina M. Gibson, 34, of Butler and Rose M. Dunkle, 76, no address given, collided on Swan Street. Gibson was cited for driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.
Butler Twp Police2:51 a.m. Sunday — Stormie Milligan, 18, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after a three-vehicle crash at Bessemer Avenue and Chesapeake Street.Milligan’s car rear-ended a sport utility vehicle driven by Richelle Ruediger, 25, of Butler. The car then hit an unoccupied minivan that was parked on the side of the road.Milligan, Ruediger and Sarah Archer, 22, of Butler, a passenger in the SUV, suffered minor injuries.Police charged Milligan with DUI, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, possession of a controlled substance, underage drinking, careless driving, failing to keep right and driving at an unsafe speed.6:30 p.m. Saturday — Two thieves sneaked into a back office at the Dollar General Store in the Greater Butler Mart, and stole money, credit cards and checkbooks from the purses of two employees.Surveillance video showed two black males and a white female walked into the store and the two males went into the office. Police did not immediately say if they have any suspects.4:08 a.m. Friday — Vehicles driven by James Smith, 59, of Canton, Ohio, and Justine Yost, 69, of Butler collided at Greenwood Drive and Route 422. Police cited Smith for a stop sign violation.Friday — Police filed drugged driving and other charges against Maria M. McCabe, 47, of Karns City stemming from a 3:36 p.m. May 8 crash on Route 422 that injured three people.McCabe and the other driver, Becky Curry, 36, collided in their vehicles. At least one of the vehicles rolled over.Curry and her 4-year-old son, and Robin Matthews, 56, of New Castle, a passenger in McCabe’s vehicle, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.McCabe is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, accidents involving injury while not properly licensed, false report to police, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.Additionally, she is charged with driving with a suspended license, giving false information, reckless driving, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed and driving without insurance.5:40 p.m. Thursday — Carol Ann Petronek, 51, of Carnegie, Allegheny County, is accused of shoplifting 11 items worth more than $200 from the Kohl’s store in the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. She is charged with retail theft.6:48 p.m. March 9 — Carmen Wohl, 39, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting perfume and jewelry at the Kohl’s store in the Butler Crossing plaza. Wohl is charged with retail theft.1:10 p.m. May 9 — A vehicle driven by Robert Swartwout, 50, of Renfrew rear-ended another vehicle at Meridian and Buttercup roads. Jeffrey McAuley, 41, of Butler was the other driver.
Grove City PoliceSunday — Isaac Ryhal, 18, of Volant was cited after allegedly shooting an air soft gun at homes in the 200 block North Broad Street. Ryhal is charged with discharging an air gun in the borough.9:53 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Frank Cimperman, no age given, of Volant crashed into a tree after hitting a guardrail on George Junior Road. Cimperman was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Saturday — A 5-foot metal flower hanger was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 100 block of North Center Street. The theft happened between 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday.Friday — Someone dented the front and rear quarter panels of a maroon Honda CR-V parked in the borough parking lot on College Avenue.The damage, police suspect, was caused by a pedestrian or a cyclist between 6 and 8:15 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Friday — A cement block pillar between 6 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday was damaged at Little Treasures Learning Center on Breckenridge Street.
State Police, ButlerFriday — Police filed drunken driving charges against Dustin R. Jacobs-Jordan, 19, of Clay Township stemming from a 3:08 a.m. traffic stop at Route 138 and Beaver Dam Road in Clay Township.In addition to DUI, Jacobs-Jordan is charged with minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, a lane violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving.State Police. KittanningMonday — A thief stole a laptop computer and a purse with a large amount of money from an unlocked vehicle at a Pony Farm Road in North Buffalo Township. The theft happened between 7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.
State Police, New CastleToday — Police issued eight traffic tickets to Jacob C. Ruckert, 33, of New Castle in connection with a suspected hit-and-run crash about 3 a.m. May 8 on Princeton Station Road near Norman Lane in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Ruckert was driving a pickup truck that struck a tree. Ruckert, who suffered moderate injuries, fled the scene of the crash.In addition to hit-and-run, he was cited for failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, a lane violation, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without an inspection sticker.3:37 p.m. Friday — Cindy L. Speer, 45, of Portersville was hurt when the car she was driving collided with another car at Route 488 and Pleasant Hill Road in Perry Township. Speer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Ellwood City Hospital with minor injuries.Speer was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. George Szilvasi, 85, of Midland, Beaver County, was the other driver.
