William F. Arblaster
William “Bill” Fredrick Arblaster, 74, of Slippery Rock Township died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday at the VNA Hospice Inpatient, Butler.
Born in Butler, May 2, 1936, he was the son of Charles Henry Arblaster and Effie Loretta Gurney Arblaster.
He married Nellie “Nell” Margaret McCandless on Oct. 19, 1963; and she survives at their home.
He first wife, Margaret Lucille Adams, who he married in 1955, died in 1963.
Mr. Arblaster retired in 1997 from Cooper Energy, Grove City, where he was a crane operator and machinist. As a young man, he worked cutting timber.
He was a member of the Forest County Snowmobile Club and a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, woodworking and boating.
He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hallston, Brady Township.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie M. Arblaster of Slippery Rock; three daughters, Susan L. (George) Holtz of Slippery Rock, Cheri A. (Mike) Fisher of Clinton, Mont., and Cindy K. (Tim) Griest of Greensburg; and two sons, William C. (Sue) Arblaster of Slippery Rock and Ronald C. (Jackie) Arblaster of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson.
<B>ARBLASTER</B> — Services for William “Bill” Fredrick Arblaster, who died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, will be at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor David Richendrfer, pastor of the Assembly of God Church of Slippery Rock, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest County Snowmobile Club, P.O.
