Florence Mae Niehenke
Florence Mae Niehenke, 96, of Baden died Sunday at the St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.
Born June 9, 1914, in Garrett, she was the daughter of Hiram and Lilly Boden Lohr.
Mrs. Niehenke was a member of the Cranberry Baptist Church, Cranberry Township, where she was an elder.
During World War II, she worked for the Goodyear Aircraft Co. building airplanes for the war effort. After World War II, she became an licensed practical nurse working for the D.T. Watson Rehabilitation Hospital in Sewickley, the Valencia Woods Nursing Home and the St. John Lutheran Care Center in Mars. Following her nursing career at the various nursing homes, she opened her own nursing care home at her residence on Steinberg Lane, Baden, for 12 years.
Mrs. Niehenke also enjoyed crafts and making hook rugs.
She is survived by her daughter, Dolores (Dean) Pritts of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Deborah Walter, Dana Pritts and William S. Niehenke; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Niehenke, who died in 1973; her son, William R. Niehenke; two grandchildren; three brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Cranberry Baptist Church, 28 Rolling Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066, with Pastor Dan Chaffin officiating.
