Today — Police charged Joseph T. McGuire, 36, of Butler with bouncing three checks for $204.64 between Dec. 19 and 23 at Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street. The checks were written on a closed account. Police said McGuire faces three citations for bad checks.
Tuesday — An unknown burglar between Sunday and Tuesday broke into an Emlenton area home and threw a rifle out of an upstairs window, damaging the gun. Police did not immediately say if any property was stolen in the burglary at the Route 208 home in Scrubgrass Township.
6:36 p.m. Tuesday — A Kittanning woman was arrested and 90 stamp bags of suspected heroin seized following a traffic stop on Route 28 at Exit 18 in South Buffalo Township. Crystal D. Johnson, 25, was arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $15,000 bail.
Wednesday — Someone broke into a Grove City home between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m. and stole unspecified property. The unknown burglar parked a vehicle next to the house on Glenn Road in Findley Township, forced open a door or window and used the vehicle to haul away the items from inside.Anyone who may have seen a suspicious vehicle traveling in the area at the time of the break-in is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Sunday — Edward G. Dodds, 39, of Grove City is accused of raping a 27-year-old Mercer woman at a home on North Liberty-Plain Grove Road in Liberty Township.Dodds is charged with rape, two counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault, and sexual assault, unlawful restraint and simple assault.The defendant, who is free on $25,000 bail, faces a preliminary hearing May 18 at the office of District Judge Neil McEwen in Pine Township.
2:58 p.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Michael M. Conway, 54, of Slippery Rock and a car driven by Walter J. Wallas, 52, of New Castle collided at Route 19 and Frew Mill Road in Scott Township. Police said Conway was cited for improperly entering or crossing a road.
