FRANKLIN TWP — The 156th Big Butler Fair is seeking a fair queen to officiate activities during the fair July 2 to 9. Butler County girls ages 16 to 20 or girls who are current fair exhibitors are welcome to participate.

An informational tea will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the fairgrounds board room.

MUDDY CREEK TWP — The Muddy Creek Oil Field in Moraine State Park opens for the season on Saturday.The site will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. one Saturday per month. Dates are May 14, June 12, July 9, Aug. 6 and 7, and Sept. 10.Visitors can see an operating oil field and learn about the history of oil in this area.
