Isabelle A. Croyle
Isabelle A. Croyle, 84, of Karns City died of natural causes early Saturday morning at The Caring Place in Franklin.
Born in Petrolia, May 10, 1926, she was the daughter of Albert and Norabelle Stover Corbett.
Mrs. Croyle was married in Rimersburg on Dec. 24, 1945, to C. Jay Croyle Sr. Mr. Croyle preceded her in death Dec. 4, 2008.
She was a 1945 graduate of the Fairview Township Karns City High School.
In her earlier years, she attended the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.
She had been employed by Dr. Mortimer in Petrolia and the Bantam Car Co. in Butler; and she and her late husband operated Granny's Market on Main Street in Karns City for many years.
She enjoyed the company of her family and her dog, Sadie. She enjoyed crocheting and gospel music, especially “The Gaithers.” As she and her late husband enjoyed camping, they had been members of the Clarion County Campers Association.
Surviving are five children, Marlene Burke and her husband, Leo, and Brenda J. King and her husband, John, all of Karns City, Bishop C. Jay Croyle Jr. and his wife, Bess, of Foxburg, Charlie A. Croyle and his wife, Tammy, of Chicora and Connie M. King of Oil City; 11 grandchildren, LeAnne McConnell, Nichole Morrow, Amy Lee Moody, Andrew Jay Sebring, Anthony Jay Croyle, Michael James Croyle, Heather Renee Zediker, Justin Jay Croyle, Lacey Kay Croyle, Monica Mae Weeter and Angela Marie Shaffer; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Catherine Brown of Karns City and Alice Croyle of Franklin; as well as a number of nieces, nephews; and a sister-in-law.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Croyle was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Croyle; a great-grandson; and a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
<B>CROYLE </B>— Friends of Isabelle A. Croyle, who died Saturday, April 2, 2011, will be received at the <B>Hile Funeral Home of Chicora</B>, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 6 to 9 p.m. today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with her son, Bishop Jay Croyle Jr., the presiding bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy in Pennsylvania, officiating.
