12:04 p.m. Saturday — Three people were hurt when cars driven by Alex White, 41, of Center Township and Linus Hesidenz, 54, of Butler Township collided at Route 8 and Pittsburgh Road. Both drivers and a passenger in Hesidenz's car, Louann Hesidenz, 54, of Butler Township, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. All three were wearing seat belts.Police said White was cited for not stopping at a red light.
Sunday — Two boys, who police did not identify, escaped from the Summit Academy reform school on Herman Road in Summit Township between 9:30 and 10:45 p.m. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.3:51 p.m. Saturday — Jeffery Alan Walker, no age given, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Reimer Road in Jefferson Township.Saturday — Corey Shoup, 29, of Butler is accused of violating a protection from abuse order at a 59-year-old woman's home on Chicora Road in Summit Township.12:49 a.m. Saturday — Mark Angerett, 51, was arrested on felony assault and other charges after he allegedly beat 33-year-old Dicie Demiral of Seven Fields during a domestic dispute at his Stevenson Road home in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Demiral suffered a broken nose, swelling to her face and bruising on her arms, back and ears.Angerett is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.2:25 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Cassandra L. Kasprzak, 23, of Cheektowaga, N.Y., crashed into a tree along Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Kasprzak, who was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Thursday — An unknown thief or thieves stole campaign signs of Anthony Gagliardi that were posted along several roads in Summit Township. Gagliardi is a candidate for township supervisor in the May primary.The signs, taken between April 18 and Thursday, were on Herman Road west of Moran Road, at the intersections of Brinker and Bonniebrook roads and at Portman and Bonniebrook roads, and on Great Belt Road at the township line.9 p.m. April 12 — Karen R. Abramson, 48, of Evans City was arrested for suspicion of DUI after her car reportedly got stuck in a ditch on Winfield Road near Route 356 in Winfield Township.10:24 p.m. April 9 — Shane M. Lowther, 25, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving after a hit-and-run crash on Route 8 near Brandon Road in Center Township.Police said Lowther fled the scene on foot after his car hit a guardrail. He was found about 2 miles south of the wreck. In addition to DUI, he faces hit-and-run and several other traffic violations.
Thursday — A Smith & Wesson MP15-22 semi-automatic rifle and a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber revolver were stolen in a burglary between April 10 and Thursday from a Monarch Lane home in Madison Township.State Police. Kittanning2:50 a.m. Sunday — Joseph Palmiere III, no age given, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck rolled down a steep embankment on North Scenic Drive in South Buffalo Township. The pickup ended up against a large tree. Palmiere, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Friday — A burglar broke into a Pine Township home and stole all the copper tubing in the basement. Police did not say if they have a suspect, who entered the Wilkinson Road home through and unlocked basement door and cut the tubing.State Police, Mercer2:10 a.m. Friday — Samantha R. Welton, 26, of Grove City swerved her car to avoid a deer and crashed into a tree along Old Ash Road in Springfield Township.
