BUTLER TWP — Former Butler High School boys varsity basketball coach Joe Lewandowski has accepted the same position at Deer Lakes High School.

The Lancers are in WPIAL Class AAA and are coming off a 4-18 season under Kevin Cochran, who guided the program for three years. Deer Lakes has had two winning seasons and two playoff appearances in the past 10 years.

Since 2002, Deer Lakes is 20-79 in section play.

Lewandowski coached Butler’s varsity boys for seven seasons, including a WPIAL playoff berth in 2007-08.
