Kevin Hindman of Knoch reached the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State High School Bowling Championships in Pottstown Friday.
Hindman finished second overall in the boys singles qualifying with a six-game series of 1,435. His high game was a 279.
Hindman lost in the semifinals to Matt Detrick of Garden Spot, 257-211.
Andrew Hartman of Baldwin won the individual title, beating Detrick 290-188.
Hartman rolled a high game of 299.
That wasn't the best of the tournament, however. Travis Carson of Norwin notched a perfect game during qualifying.
In the girls competition, Autumn Hepler of Butler finished 11th with a six-game series of 1,235. Her high game was 214.
Also for the Golden Tornado, Brea Suchonic finished 15th and Nicole Balk was 20th.
The Butler girls will compete in the team championships Saturday.
At the PIAA Class AAA Championships Friday at Bucknell University, Seneca Valley's Makena Lynch placed 22nd in the girls 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.71 seconds.Butler diver Meredith Harbison finished 23rd with a score of 152.85.
