Butler PoliceThursday — Janet L. Hack, 47, of Butler is accused of bouncing five checks totaling $172.34 at the Friedman’s supermarket on West Brady Street. The checks were written on an account with insufficient funds and passed between Nov. 28 and Dec. 6. Hack faces bad check charges.
State Police, ButlerThursday — Police charged Jason E. Adkins, 32, of Oak Hill, Ohio, with passing several bogus checks for $2,950 at Eastman Tire Supply in Clay Township between Aug. 1 and Monday. Adkins is charged with theft by deception and bad checks.3:54 p.m. Feb. 21 — A car driven by James E. Young, 22, of Sarver rear-ended a minivan on snow-covered Route 356 near Franklin Drive in Winfield Township. Blaine E. Curry, 55 of Sarver, the other driver, was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, with minor injuries
State Police, Mercer7:40 p.m. Wednesday — Shane William Burns, no age given, of Harrisville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his van struck and sheared off a utility pole along Route 58 in Findley Township. Burns suffered a minor injury.
