8:50 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Kathy Rensel, 48, of Butler struck two cars parked on Cunningham Street and did not stop. Officers found her nearby. She claimed, according to a police report, that she did not know she had hit the other cars. Police said she faces tickets for hit-and-run and careless driving.

10:10 p.m. Wednesday — Ryan Schramm, 29, of Butler and Thomas Clark, 18, no known address, were arrested after they were caught with items stolen from a vehicle on Blackshire Road.A resident called police after seeing someone shine a flashlight into another house. A second call notified officers that someone was “hunched down” by a vehicle in a driveway, according to a police report.Police nabbed Schramm and Clark, who were found with property from a vehicle that had been ransacked.The suspects were arraigned on charges of theft from a vehicle, conspiracy receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night. They were placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail each, following arraignment.Police ask any other homeowners on or in the area of Blackshire Drive who had their vehicles broken into to call police at 724-285-9600.Police remind owners to lock their vehicles.

Thursday — Vehicles driven by Hanna Cavanaugh, 18, and Christine Miller, 47, both of Grove City, collided at East Main and Maple streets. Police said Cavanaugh was cited for a stop sign violation.

Wednesday — An unknown thief stole scrap metal that was outside a garage at a home in the 500 block of Fenelton Road in Clearfield Township. The theft happened between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.Tuesday — Police arrested Ronald D. Butler Jr., 53, of Butler on charges he forged a check Jan. 2 to buy a 1998 Mercury Tracer at Weichey’s Used Cars in Clearfield Township.Butler was arraigned on charges of forgery, theft by unlawful taking, two counts each of theft by deception, receiving stolen property bad checks and criminal mischief, and a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle.While being processed into the Butler County Prison, Butler was found with suspected marijuana and other contraband. Police said he faces additional charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.He is in the county prison on $25,000 bail.2:30 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Sharon R. Anderson, 50, of Chicora struck a fence post along West Slippery Rock Road in Chicora. Police said Anderson was cited for a lane violation.Monday — Two 55-gallon drums of oil and one 55-gallon drum of hydraulic fluid were stolen from a construction site on Route 308 about one mile south of Branchton Road in Cherry Township.The property, owned by Berner Construction of Gap, Lancaster County, was taken between Feb. 4 and Monday.Jan. 30 — An unknown burglar stole a laptop and video games from a Campus Side Circle home in Slippery Rock Township. The break-in occurred Jan. 29 or 30.
