2:24 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Maureen Rodgers, 28, of Sarver struck the rear of a van on South Main Street. Billie Williams, 35, of Butler was driving the van.Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle and minivan parked in the Butler Memorial Hospital tier garage on Hospital Way were broken into during the day. A rear window of one vehicle on the ground level was smashed out and several hand tools and a battery jump pack taken. The stolen property is valued at $500.A front window of the other vehicle on the upper level was broken. That vehicle was ransacked but apparently nothing was taken.The vehicles were broken into between the early morning and 4 p.m.

5:50 p.m. Tuesday — Jeffrey Nadiak, 22, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly shoplifted a laptop computer valued at $448 from the Walmart in Butler Commons. He is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Nadiak is being held in the Butler County Prison for probation violation.

Wednesday — Police arrested Tara Jo Selfridge, 28, of Butler on a bench warrant and on a separate shoplifting charge stemming from the theft of $133.68 worth of merchandise Tuesday at the Sears store at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.

2:40 a.m. Jan. 23 — A car driven by Xzabian A. Savage, 33, of Farrell, Mercer County, struck a guardrail on Route 8 in Barkeyville.State Police, Mercer9:30 a.m. Tuesday — Police blamed ice on the road for a two-vehicle crash on Route 208 near TCI Park Drive in Pine Township. The crash happened when a pickup truck driven by Richard D. Carson, 40, of Hadley spun out and collided with a car driven by Richard C. Hockenberry, 69, of Grove City.11 a.m. Feb. 1 — A Beaver County man was seriously injured when he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a mailbox and utility pole along Route 208 near Oak Hill Lane in Springfield Township. Milan Matijevich, 57, of Pulaski was taken to Grove City Medical Center with major injuries, according to a police report.
