Thursday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of $5,794 from the USX Federal Credit Union on Route 356 in Winfield Township. An employee, who police did not identify, is suspected of stealing the money between Jan. 10 and 14.7:30 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Jeffrey D. Savasta, 34, of Sarver struck a tree and rolled over after sliding off ice-covered Stark Road in Clinton Township.5:15 p.m. Wednesday — No one was hurt when a car broke down and caught fire on Harmony Road in Connoquenessing Township. Mark L. Gibson, 46, of Butler, who was driving the 2003 Ford Escape, and a passenger got out of the vehicle safely.Jan. 24 — A 32-inch Phillips flat-screen television and a chrome grinder were stolen from a home on Lions Road in Connoquenessing Township. The theft happened between 11 a.m. Jan. 23 and 9 p.m. Jan. 24. The stolen property is valued at $400.
7:45 p.m. Saturday — Daniel Croyle, 45, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Indiana Pike near Route 422 in Manor Township.
