2:36 p.m. Monday — Charmaigne Tack, 24, of Butler is accused of shoplifting $113.93 in clothes and cosmetics from the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Tack is charged with retail theft.Thursday — Police cited George W. Staley III, 42, with cruelty to animals for allegedly leaving two puppies outside his Fairview Avenue home for several days in below freezing temperatures and without food and water.

8:43 p.m. Sunday — Miguel Laureano, 38, of the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested for shoplifting $152 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Laureano is charged with retail theft and possessing instruments of crime. He was placed in the Butler County Prison following his arrest.12:42 a.m. Sunday — Megan Rice, 23, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at Greenwood Drive and New Castle Road. Police also cited Rice for a stop sign violation.11:50 a.m. Jan. 12 — Shera Frobe, 37, of Butler is accused of using a check, without the owner's permission, to buy items at Aaron's Sales & Lease in the Alameda Plaza. Frobe is charged with forgery, identity theft, access device fraud and theft.

4:05 a.m. Sunday — Jeffrey Kyles-Edge, 32, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after his car crashed into a bridge abutment on Route 68 near Catalpa Road in Donegal Township. Kyles-Edge was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.9:23 p.m. Thursday — An unknown thief reportedly stole an Apple iPod from a home on Davis Road in Clay Township.Jan. 10 — A car driven by Clara A. Kemper, 55, of Renfrew crashed into two mailboxes along Route 68 on Connoquenessing Township. Police cited Kemper for careless driving and driving without inspection.10:34 p.m. Jan. 3 — Charles Reagle, 25, of Portersville was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township.

11:30 a.m. Jan. 12 — A car driven by Tyler A. Bowser, 19, of Rimersburg struck a guide cable for a utility pole along Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township. Police said Bowser was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
