Joseph Pocchiari

Joseph Pocchiari celebrated his 90th birthday with a family gathering.

Pocchiari was born Nov. 13, 1920, in New York, N.Y.

At 18, he enlisted in the military during World War II and served for 25 years in the Army Air Corps.

While stationed in Germany, he visited relatives in Melfi, Italy, where he met his future wife, Maria. They married in 1958.

He has four children, Anna, Louis, John and Elizabeth, all of Butler.

After retiring from the armed forces, Pocchiari moved to Butler and worked for 14 years at Pullman Standard.
