Monday — A Butler woman reported that her purse was stolen from a vehicle while she shopped at stores in Butler and Butler Township. The red cloth purse contained a wallet and prescription medication.Thursday — John D. Dunmyre Jr., 23, of Butler was arrested for breaking into a neighbor's home on Third Avenue and stealing a plastic bag of tobacco.The victim told police she came home about 4:25 p.m. and spotted the defendant in her basement. She also saw him take the bag and run out the basement door, according to a police report.Police found Dunmyre at his home. He allegedly admitted that he “only took a small bag of tobacco,” the report said. He was arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass and theft. He is free on $1,000 bail.
9:20 a.m. Tuesday — Lisa M. Legrand, 17, of Slippery Rock suffered a minor injury when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle, struck an embankment and rolled over on Hall Road in Clay Township. Police said Legrand, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Friday — A 15-year-old Slippery Rock girl's notebook computer was stolen from a bench at Clearview Mall in Center Township. The white Apple MacBook with a 13-inch screen is valued at $800.5:15 p.m. Dec. 6 — Two people were hurt when a pickup truck driven by David R. Frisk, 21, and an SUV driven by Crystal G. Williams, 28, of Harrisville collided on Route 173 near East Water Street in Slippery Rock. Williams and a passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.11:20 p.m. Dec. 5 — A car driven by Kristi L. Jameson, 27, of Butler struck an embankment on snow-covered Route 422 near Protzman Road in Summit Township. Police said Jameson was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.3:04 a.m. Dec. 3 — Cars driven by Jennifer L. Brill, 23, of Harmony and Hugh J. Mangan, 59, of Claremont, N.H., collided on Interstate 79 near Pfeifer Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Brill was cited for a lane violation and Mangan was cited for driving with a suspended license.
